AR Bowling is a fun use of Apple's ARKit technology. It turns any flat surface—your living room floor, a sidewalk, or even your dining table—into a bowling alley. The physics are surprisingly good, and there's a real novelty to walking around your 'lane' to get the perfect angle for your shot.
It’s a simple game, but the addition of Augmented Reality makes it a great 'showcase' app for what your phone can do. It’s especially fun in local multiplayer, as you can pass the phone around and compete in a space that feels 'real'. While it lacks the depth of a professional bowling sim, its accessibility and the AR 'wow' factor make it well worth a download.
Immersive AR gameplay
Realistic 3D physics engine
Local multiplayer support
Playable on any flat surface
For the best experience, find a well-lit area with a textured floor (like a rug or wood grain). This helps the AR sensor track the ground accurately so your lane doesn't 'drift' during your turn.
The speed and direction of your finger flick directly translate to the ball's movement. Practice a slight curve at the end of your flick to add 'hook' to the ball, which is essential for getting consistent strikes.
You can scale the lane to fit your environment, whether it's a small desk or a large hallway.
